AI Added Steps: Recipes, Brains and the New Product Lifecycle

About this session

AI was expected to compress product development into a single lean sprint. Instead, it has added steps. Define, Design, Build, and QA all remain, and several new steps have emerged. Two are now well defined: Recipes, the workflows that instruct agents on what to do, and Brains, the context that defines what "right" looks like.

Work once divided among PMs, designers, engineers, and QA now falls to a single builder responsible for every step, which is why building feels both faster and more chaotic. As teams deploy more agents, coordination load and cost per feature compound.

Lexi Quirk will discuss the emerging tools that help teams coordinate this work, and the opportunities that remain.
