Building an AI Operations Center (AIOC): Operational AI Governance for Production Systems

About this session

Enterprise AI has reached a new phase. The challenge is no longer deploying AI—it's operating it safely, reliably, and at business speed.

Organizations have invested in copilots, AI agents, customer service assistants, fraud detection models, and intelligent automation. Yet most cannot answer fundamental operational questions: Who owns these systems after deployment? How are they monitored? What happens when they drift, fail, or create regulatory exposure?

In this session, I introduce the AI Operations Center (AIOC), an operational model inspired by Security Operations Centers (SOCs) that embeds governance into day-to-day AI operations rather than treating it as a compliance exercise. Drawing on lessons from cybersecurity operations, enterprise governance, and African digital transformation, I'll share a practical framework for AI inventory management, continuous monitoring, incident response, resilience, accountability, and executive visibility. Attendees will leave with an actionable blueprint for operationalizing AI governance without slowing innovation or disrupting business continuity.
