Saurabh Pitkar explains how merchants can prepare for agentic commerce across LLM apps, enterprise systems, and first-party AI experiences while avoiding costly platform mistakes.
About Saurabh Pitkar
Saurabh Pitkar is Director of Product Management for Agentic Commerce and Agentic AI at Dell Technologies, where he leads product strategy for selling Dell products natively through LLM apps like ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot, AI agents on dell.com, marketplaces, social commerce and enterprise ERP integrations. Earlier at Dell, he led the unified, AI-ready commerce platform behind $115B+ in annual transactions. With 12+ years across a Fortune 50 enterprise, Porter (a Sequoia-funded logistics unicorn) and Maruti Suzuki, he builds at the intersection of agentic AI and large-scale commerce. He holds an MBA from Duke Fuqua and a B.Tech from IIT BHU.
What motivated you to join the AI Builders Global Conference?
Yes, very much. AI Builders is a community of practitioners shipping AI systems. Agentic commerce is moving faster than any playbook can keep up with, and it'd be great learning from other experts in this field to understand what's working in production. I joined because the community rewards real-world experience.
What shaped your journey through technology and AI?
I began in automotive supply chain, then led ops and strategy teams in Porter, a Sequoia-funded logistics unicorn and later pivoted to product management to improve customer loyalty by building ML-driven churn prediction algorithms. After an MBA at Duke University (Fuqua School of Business), I joined Dell to manage $1B+ revenue-generating products and launched 3 generations of products, and later switched focus to commerce experiences across all $115B+ revenue for Dell. I built Dell's unified, AI-ready commerce platform that processes all $115B+ in GMV annually. Today, I lead Agentic Commerce for Dell, building end-to-end systems to enable buying natively through LLM apps, social apps, dell.com AI agents, and marketplaces.
Why is agentic commerce important to you?
I have seen several experts commenting on how agentic commerce will evolve customer's experience in shopping products but I am yet to see deep dives from merchant lens. That's what I have been researching and working on and I wanted to bring this learning out to the AI practitioners to collaborate. Merchants need to understand how the playing field is evolving around these new commerce surfaces, understand the critical investment areas and avoid costly failures. I want builders to leave with a practical framework and a pre-launch checklist to maximize success across the industry.
Who should attend the AI Builders Global Conference?
Product and engineering leaders building AI agents or AI-powered features can learn from people solving the same problems in production. E-commerce, merchandising, and data teams responsible for shaping AI answer engine outcomes and answer engine optimization can better understand what influences the buying channel. Founders and startup builders can explore real enterprise use cases and what large organizations need from agentic systems. Enterprise architects and procurement or ERP teams can examine the commercial and consumer sides of agentic commerce and machine-to-machine purchasing.
