MATLAB is a numerical programming and visualization environment. MathWorks provides separate toolboxes for machine learning, deep learning, and other engineering tasks. A MATLAB installation does not establish that every toolbox or deployment capability is included.
For an engineering-data exercise, import a representative dataset and make preprocessing reproducible. Compare a simple model with a more complex one using a held-out evaluation set. Record required toolboxes, versions, and deployment targets alongside the model so another engineer can reproduce the result.
Check the required products. Statistics and Machine Learning Toolbox and Deep Learning Toolbox are distinct named products.
Include the preprocessing, dataset definition, validation procedure, versions, toolbox requirements, and intended deployment target.
