OpenAI's Sora web and app experiences were discontinued on April 26, 2026. Its official notice set September 24, 2026 as the API discontinuation date. Those dates have passed as of this entry's review, so Sora should not be presented as an available tool for a new production workflow.
If an existing project depended on Sora, inventory the prompts, generated assets, and application calls that need attention. Consult OpenAI's current export notice for any remaining recovery opportunity. Evaluate a replacement with your own representative prompts and review criteria; this page does not promise continued export access or a compatible replacement API.
Sora is discontinued. Do not plan a new integration on the former service.
